2007 Oncology Annual Report

Tipton Hospital recently published its Oncology Annual Report. Tipton Hospital and its oncology partner, Community Cancer Care, publish this report jointly. Each year, the report focuses on a particular type of cancer and provides educational information for patients and families. The 2007 report focuses on breast cancer. Specific analytic data and statistics related to Tipton Hospital’s cancer population is also part of the report including:

  • Total cancer cases at Tipton Hospital
  • Number of cancer cases by site
  • Number of breast cancer cases

The oncology annual report follows the standards for the American College of Surgeons. Tipton Hospital’s program in conjunction with Community Cancer Care has been in operation since 1983 and is accredited by the Commission on Cancer – the gold standard in cancer care. Of the 120 hospitals in Indiana, Tipton is one of only 45 to hold this prestigious accreditation.

“This report is a valuable tool for cancer patients and family members alike. Patients can be assured they get the same quality here at our facility as they would in Indianapolis or other urban areas. We are very lucky to have access to great physicians and ongoing oncology nursing training,” says Susan Kirby, RN, OCN, Oncology Manager.
